What information do we collect
When someone visits our website to request a Northwest Ontario Fishing & Hunting Map, our web server automatically collects a limited amount of standard information essential to the operation and security of our website. This information helps us to make our site more useful to visitors and includes the:
- Visitors' contact info
- Internet domain and Internet Protocol (IP) address from computers that access our website
- type of browser and operating system used to access our site
- date and time our site is accessed
- pages visited
Any personal information collected via our website (e.g. web forms) is done in compliance with Ontario's privacy legislation and is considered necessary for providing services offered by our organization. Patritia Regional Tourist Council is obligated to protect personal information by making reasonable security arrangements against such risks as unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure or disposal. The personal information submitted is secure once it reaches the Patritia Regional Tourist Council's web server. In transit between a computer and the server, all information is secured using SSL encryption, which the web browser typically denotes using a lock icon.
Upon request, you will be informed of the existence, use and disclosure of your Personal Information, and will be given access to it. You may verify the accuracy and completeness of your Personal Information, and may request that it be amended, if appropriate. However, in certain circumstances permitted by law, we will not disclose certain information to you. For example, we may not disclose information relating to you if other individuals are referenced or if there are legal, security or commercial proprietary restrictions.
