I just returned from a five day stay at the Old Post with Jack Likens and his group. From the fantastic fishing to the execellent service and very clean cabins you have a top notch lodge wich is five star.Also I loved the history of the Old Post and reading about the lives and cluture of the Ojibwa people very interesting. Wow, what great fishing Jack and I caught around 100 walleyes each day and had doubles on many times, thats a fishermans paradise for walleyes. I didn't fish the big pike as Jack isn't a Pike fisherman but I know you have great pike fishing. I'm a full time guide on Leech Lake in Walker and I have fished The Red Lake area and Ear Falls and Guided for our Govenor's opener on Rainy Lake, I've fished in Canada for over thirity I would highly reccomend the Old Post for a trip. It's a big plus to be able to drive to Lake St. Joe and fish out of your own boat especially when Jack runs over thirty miles to fish each day.Your son's are very polite and work hard ... This was the first trip to a Canadian shield lake for John Benhart, who wanted to share the experience with his two young grandsons, Alan Benhart and Joseph Benhart. Also along for the trip was John's friend Gary Hampton. John went all-out to make sure this trip was a memorable trip for the boys - new rods, reels, lures, GPS and digital cameras. Never having fished for walleye before, it didn't take long for them to get into they rhythm and start landing fish. Being an experienced angler, Gary was their patient instructor. Gary and the boys racked-up numbers, Grandpa John put them in their place landing and releasing a 28 inch walleye along with his other catches.

I have been flying with Rusty Myers going on thirty years and have fished a good share of the lakes serviced by Rusty Myers. I feel very fortunate to have hade the chance years ago to do my first fly-in fishing trip with Rusty Myers. Over the years working with Angie,Darlyss, Mike and the rest of the staff at Rusty Myers from booking trips to all of the lakes that they have their outpost camps. The service level from the time you arrive at the base in Fort Frances to the thrill of the beautiful flight to any of the outpost camps and the professional pilots like Mike and the other pilots based in Fort Frances. The pilots and Johnnies crew from Savant deserve much credit for the great job they do flying in needed supplies and the service level they provide. A special thanks to Angie and the crew from Savant this past July when we experienced a medical situation while fishing at Wabakimi. When I want to go fishing, I go to Seseganaga Lodge. I am never disappointed. Excellent fishing, good food, CLEAN cabins and bath -- even my wife was impressed! Seriously, I have been to the lodge 8 or 9 times, Mike and Marie know their business. Service is key. I will continue to go back each year -- sometimes twice.
