| ABOUT US | Viking Outposts - 12 fly in remote Cabin locations. Each is the only cabin on the lake often including portage lakes. Exception is McInnes lake on which we have 3 well spaced cabins on the 25 mile long lake. Each week long Package price starting at $950.00 per person includes, boats, motors, gas, camp checks, fully equipped kitchen, propane fridge, stove, chest freezer, wood stove. lights, hot showers. longer or shorter stays possible. Viking Island is a small resort, dedicated to fishing. It takes a short flight by float plane to reach Douglas Lake from Red Lake. Now you are in Woodland Caribou Wilderness Park. This is beautiful remote country, renowned for walleye, northern and lake trout fishing as well as wildlife viewing. The lakes are deep, but not huge, and closely connected with plenty of bays. The perfect setting for a relaxed fishing trip. The atmosphere on the island comes from another time. We have a maximum of 24 guests in camp per week and many have been visiting us for many years. Our outpost cabins each sleep 4 - 10 people. |

I just wanted to drop you a line about my fantastic fishing trip with all of you people. I got my fish home in great shape, no problems at any of the airports, or with customs, they just inspected the car. We haven't eaten any of the fish yet, but we will soon and it will be a great meal to remember.
You people have to be the best in this business around. I had a great time, the food was fantastic, the cabin was great, and the scenery is great. Johnny knows the lakes like the back of his hands and he knows how to cook too. I'm attaching three pictures of the three largest pike I caught; they all were around 35" long. I'm already trying to get a group of three other guys lined up for next year, I'm telling them all just what they are missing if they don't come up and go fishing with you people. The only thing that I was hoping to see was a moose or bear but I didn't see either one. Did see some eagles though, they are a beautiful sight.
