Bill Hugunin (aka "hugey") caught a 50" monster last Thursday out of Indian Point Camp on Lake Wabigoon near Dryden, Ontario. What a hog!! (the fish I mean!) It was hooked on the figure 8 at boat side while his wife Rhonda, son Eric and Eric's girlfriend watched in horror as the monster tried to pull Mr. Bill into the lake. Eric was finally able to hear "get the fish in the net"! We heard them hollering and cheering clear across the bay!!! What a week on the 'goon'!! We saw lots of other fish and Bill and I both had a 40" and 42" in the boat (I should have had 2 hogs but . . . oh well!) Lots of nice pike and plenty of eater Walleye's. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I left a chunk of a stainless prop in the lake (it's a tradition that I hit a rock when we go somewhere new, 3 years running now!!)

Well, we've only been away from the lake for a week and we can't wait to get back! Your outfit was a find that couldn't be beat. You treated us so special and made our trip so wonderful. Our 25th Anniversary was made extra special with the drop-off of goodies and the card. Devlin Lake was all you said it would be and more. We spent 10 glorious days and caught over 500 fish. The look on Rick's face when he landed the first big Northern Pike was the best part for me. It was the 3rd day and Rick had 38 inches of heart-pounding Northern fight on 8 lb test and a light rod. The 30 inch and 32 inch Northerns were icing on the cake during the rest of the trip. Not to mention the 80 plus walleye that graced our boat, some of which also graced our dinner table! And to think the 500 plus were just the ones that made it into the boat!!!!! Your setup of the cabin made each day enjoyable with all the gear and household goods. Our group decided that the only "GREAT" trip outfitter in Canada is "Canoe Canada". Our Scouts and Scouters had a fantastic adventure and that success goes to the very fine help, advice and the EXCELLENT provisioning by CCO.

Sept 22-29th, 2007: We are here for the first time, Moose Hunting (Bow) Sun 23-Saw a back end of a bear on the Chukuni River Road. Mon 24-Saw the front end of a bear Canoeing Dixie Creek , from Tote Road. Hear wolves howling, walking a trail off the hwy south of Camp. Tues 25-Canoeing, came across a Bull Moose (No tag) which ran over to a cow and calf. Kevin had a shot at guessed 50 yards which ranged later to 55, shot at the calf and missed low. Wed 26- Birds in the freezer Thurs 27-Found a bedding area, called for the fun of it. Bull Moose came in grunting and crashing all the way. Kevin had a quick broadside look at 35 yards (no tag) and the moose came in to 23 yards before stopping. then spooking. Quite the thrill. Limit of birds today!
