Rob, this was, by far, our best Canadian fishing trip ever! The service we received was fantastic, from housekeeping to personal launching/docking, from new customer guide service to free fish cleaning; everything was first class all the way. Our unit was immaculately clean, beds were extremely comfortable, and ceiling fans in every room were a life-saver! Our view was perfect and daily towel service was an appreciated added bonus! Your grounds were simply beautiful and well maintained. You provide the newest and most efficient boats/motors. After fishing off a 17-1/2 ft Lund with a 40 hp Yamaha 4-stroke engine with newly mounted easy-to-use trolling motors, live wells, fish locators, with all necessary equipment supplied free of charge, it's difficult to go back to our "normal" set-up! We were all pleasantly surprised at the boat house/office and it's use of a computer, gift shop, fresh popcorn/coffee, TV to watch, and to simply sit, lounge and converse - what a great idea! I wanted to take a moment to tell all of you: "WHAT A WONDERFUL TIME WE HAD WITH YOU ALL AT CEDARPOINT." I really mean that. You know Rich and I have been coming up there for quite a while and it was Mike's second year, and EJ's first, and everything was great, once again. The highlight, of course, was Mike's 10 pound walleye. Fishing with us at Cedarpoint seems to be his good luck charm, considering the big walleye this year and the biggest in his life, 39 1/2 inch, 20 pound northern, last year. But the thing that most amazed me was the fact that we caught so many big fish this year. 25, 26, 27 inch walleyes, fish after fish. As I have told you in the past Pat, it really is a thrill to release thos big 'eyes. I think this demonstrates that our skills are improving with repetition, you and Wayne continue to share valuable information on the current Hot-spots, and I believe we are seeing the fruits of the Ministry's slot limit. Lake: Otatakan - Report: Arrived at Otatakan morning of 9/7/08, stayed 9 days. Weather was bad most of the time with wind, rain, and cold. However, the fishing was awesome with large numbers and some nice fish caught. Below is our daily count and time of fishing. This was one of the best trips ever. It was 3 total people. Largest walleye for the trip 26 inches, largest northern just over 40 inches. Which we caught 3 northerns at or just above 40 inches. 9/7/08, Day 1, Rigged up after we flew in the morning, fished 4 hours. Rain and windy. 94 walleye, 2 northern 9/8/08, Day 2, 7 hours of fishing. Wind and some rain. 146 walleye and 3 northern. Caught 26 inch walleye 9/9/08, Day 3, 8 hours of fishing. Wind and sunny. 136 walleye and 11 northern 9/10/08, Day 4, 8 hours of fishing. Windy, Windy, and cloudy. 173 walleye, 5 northern 9/11/08, Day 5, 8 hours of fishing. I have been flying with Rusty Myers going on thirty years and have fished a good share of the lakes serviced by Rusty Myers. I feel very fortunate to have hade the chance years ago to do my first fly-in fishing trip with Rusty Myers. Over the years working with Angie,Darlyss, Mike and the rest of the staff at Rusty Myers from booking trips to all of the lakes that they have their outpost camps. The service level from the time you arrive at the base in Fort Frances to the thrill of the beautiful flight to any of the outpost camps and the professional pilots like Mike and the other pilots based in Fort Frances. The pilots and Johnnies crew from Savant deserve much credit for the great job they do flying in needed supplies and the service level they provide. A special thanks to Angie and the crew from Savant this past July when we experienced a medical situation while fishing at Wabakimi.
