Cobb Bay Lodge

Cobb Bay Lodge is located on the secluded bays of the famous Sturgeon Lake, just one hour north of Ignace. In addition to Sturgeon Lake’s remarkable lake trout fishing Cobb Bay is known for its abundant walleye population and huge northern pike.

The layout of the bay system provides shelter from many of the elements allowing for fishing in almost any weather condition, and with miles and miles of pristine shoreline there are many opportunities for you to experience the traditional Canadian shore lunch.

In addition to beautiful sunrises, sunsets and dazzling northern lights, wildlife abounds in northwestern Ontario, and there are many ways for you to enjoy its presence. Cobb Bay Lodge offers hunting packages for bear, moose, and grouse during the fall months. We also encourage and promote ecotourism with options for bear viewing.

There are also the exciting sightings that occur while out on the water fishing. Our family, as your hosts, strives to make your Cobb Bay experience a vacation of a lifetime. Stay at one of our cabins

Cobb Bay Lodge’s camp consists of seven modernized housekeeping cabins, sleeping 2 to 9 persons per cabin. Each cabin houses 2-3 separate bedrooms with bed linens, a complete bathroom including a shower and hot and cold running water, a living area, and a complete kitchen with full-size refrigerator and stove, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, dishes, cooking utensils, and pots and pans.

Each deck holds a Weber grill, and you can enjoy your meals on the cabin’s picnic table. Besides your food and gear all you need to remember is your bathing towels. Cabins are clean & comfortable with a magnificent view of Sturgeon Lake. We provide you with clean housekeeping cabins equipped with everything you need to prepare meals so you can enjoy your vacation on your own time.

Sturgeon Lake in Northwest Ontario is a large lake with a large range of species every fisherman will enjoy! Cobb Bay Lodge offers excellent fishing opportunities for monster lake trout, northern pike, and tasty walleye for your shore lunch. Our fishing packages provide you with a 16 foot Lund boat and 15 or 20 HP Yamaha motor. All of our boats come equipped with swivel seats, life jackets, landing net, minnow bucket, paddle, and required safety kit. We will fill your gas tank each morning to allow for a full day of fishing. Our camp also has fishing and hunting licenses, live bait, gas, ice, souvenirs, and fish freezing service so you don’t have to leave the camp.

Black Bear and Grouse Hunting at Cobb Bay Lodge

Our experienced guide will take you to some monster black bears in the Northwest Ontario. Each year our hunters achieve over a 90% success rate on trophy black bears in Wildlife Management Area. Some harvest exceed 300 pounds were recorded each fall. Our bear packages include a boat, motor, and gas in the event that a bear is taken early on in the week or the hunter chooses to fish in the mornings and hunt in the afternoons. This package also includes an established, pre-baited stand, bear hunting license, export tag, conservation fishing license, and taxes. All stands are pre-hung, and baits are already placed before you arrive in camp. Bringing your own ATV allows for more flexibility on the part of the hunter, allowing him to come and go to his/her stand as he/she pleases. In the event an ATV is not brought, Jamie will move the hunters to and from the stands.

Enjoy a week away from home with one of our affordable combo hunting packages for grouse and small game as well as some fishing mixed in. These combo packages are available from Mid-September through Mid-December. It includes your cabin, boat, motor, gas, and some great fall Ontario fishing and hunting opportunities.
