The community of Sioux Lookout is located on pictuesque Pelican Lake, part of the spectacular English River-Lac Seul waterway. Originating as a railway town, it remains one of the stops of the transcontinental VIA passenger train. The community of Hudson, which is now a part of the Municipality of Sioux Lookout, is the gateway to Vermilion and Lac Seul water systems. It's worth a visit!

For visitors to Sioux Lookout, the abundance of crystal clear lakes including Pelican Lake, Abram Lake, Minnitaki Lake, Lac Seul, Lost Lake and Vermilion Lakes allows unparalled access to sportfishing, with walleyed pickeral, northern pike, smallmouth bass, lake trout, muskellunge and others available. Visitors can also enjoy a wide range of recreational activities such as horseback riding, boating, canoeing, swimming, golfing, hiking and exploring. Hunters can take advantage of the fall bear hunt, while moose and small game hunting are also available in the autumn. The winter season offers cross-country skiing and snowmachining on our groomed trail system, in addition to recreational hockey, skating and curling. The Ojibway Golf and Curling Club offers one of the most scenic and challenging nine-hole golf courses in the region. The Public Library and Museum provide interesting cultural diversions for visitors to the area. There's no shortage of things to do!
