The Township of Ignace located in the heart of Northwestern Ontario and situated on Agimak Lake, hosts the busy junction of the TransCanada Highway and Highway 599. The economy is primarily based on the tourism, transportation and forest industries. Ignace boasts a strong service sector which is well known because of the many rivers and lakes which attract tourists from all over North America.

Ignace provides a full range of services including three schools, community health centre, library, two financial institutions, ambulance service, arena, Museum, bowling alley, fitness centre, seniors centre, volunteer fire services, golf course, beautiful sandy beaches, hiking trails, soccer and baseball fields.

The area has many lakes, rivers and forested terrain which offer visitors excellent fishing and hunting opportunities. Many tourist outfitters offer vacations ranging from fly-in fishing adventures to a canoe trip to view the famous White Otter Castle. Ignace offers year round adventures with numerous cross-country ski and snowmobile trails for the winter enthusiasts.

The Ignace Visitor Information Centre offers travel information, picnic tables, a playground and nature trails and the library is just down the boardwalk. Come visit and join us for White Otter Day Celebrations held every July!
